Ganassi's current operation, the No. 40 driven by Sterling Marlin leads the Winston Cup points standings. Jimmy Spencer also drives out of the Ganassi stables in the No. 41.

"Jamie is a sought-after young driver with a great work ethic and the talent to win a lot of races in the future and we will provide him with every resource and opportunity to succeed on our team," the car owner stated.

A good weekend for McMurray as prior to announcing his Cup deal, he finished a career high second in Friday night's Busch Series event. He currently has knotched up two top-fives and nine top-10s.

"This is the right move for me, and I am pleased to be part Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates." McMurray said.

As for having a sponsor such as Havoline, who recently left a long partnership with Robert Yates Racing, gives the Joplin, Mo. native even more pleasure. "I am especially proud to drive the Havoline car. Havoline has been an excellent sponsor in NASCAR for many years, and I am very humbled to be driving for them."

McMurray currently drives for Brewco Motorsports in the No. 27 Chevrolet, a ride he took over after the departure of Casey Atwood who now drives for Ultra/ Evernham Motorsports in Winston Cup.
