CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 18, 2000) - Michael Waltrip and the No. 99 Aaron's team is ready to take on the Monster Mile of Dover Downs this weekend for the MBNA.com200. With Waltrip's years of racing experience in both the Busch Grand National and Winston Cup Series, he could probably navigate the track in his sleep. Instead, he will choose to drive the Aaron's Dream Machine in search of the checkered flag.

The 1-mile banked concrete oval nestled in Dover, Delaware is notorious for accidents, many cautions, and long races. There are many factors critical to success in Dover - track position and qualifying.

"Qualifying at Dover is just a thrill ride," Waltrip stated. "With the banking and the concrete surface, one lap around the track and its like you're on the edge of control. If the car really sticks you'll have a good qualifying run, if not, you'll be starting in the back.

"Dover's pretty unforgiving when you hit the outside wall, because you'll most likely slide down the track and hit the inside wall too. It's always such a great race for the fans. The racing is exciting so there's always huge crowds at all the races."

Waltip has won two races at Dover in his Busch Grand National Series Career and anticipates a good showing for the No. 99 Aaron's team. Bud Pole qualifying for the MBNA.com 200 will take place Friday September 22, at 12:15 p.m. EST. The race will commence on Saturday September 23, at 1:10 p.m. EST. The race will be televised by TNN and broadcast live on MRN radio at 1:00 p.m. EST.
