DAYTONA BEACH, FL - NASCAR announced today that Busch and Winston Cup on-track activities for Dover International Speedway have been cancelled. The move came after meteorologists predicted that Hurricane Isabel would make landfall off the North Carolina coast Thursday afternoon, and head inland towards Delaware and Western Pennsylvania on Friday. Isabel brings with it, heavy rains and high winds.

Busch teams were scheduled to check-in Thursday morning, with Cup teams arriving Friday. Qualifying for both series was set for Friday.

Instead both series will line up by owner points standings. That puts Kevin Harvick on the pole for Saturday's 200-lap Busch event, and Matt Kenseth at the front for Sunday's 400-lap race.

NASCAR will make announcements as weather reports update as to whether any weekend schedule changes will be implemented due to inclement weather.

Currently forecasters are calling for sunny skies on Sunday in the greater Delaware Valley.
