MIAMI (Nov. 8, 1999) – Competitors in NASCAR’s top two divisions will be racing for over $4 million in prize money at Homestead-Miami Speedway during the Nov. 11-14 Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart weekend.

A purse of $2,960,330 in prize and contingency money has been posted for the Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart, the debut of NASCAR Winston Cup Series racing in South Florida. The weekend also includes the 1999 NASCAR Busch Series finale, with $1,042,178 on the line in Saturday’s HotWheels.com 300 at Miami.

The Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart weekend gets underway with NASCAR Winston Cup practice on Thursday, Nov. 11. Qualifying for both divisions is set for Friday, Nov. 12. The HotWheels.com 300 takes the green flag at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, followed by "Happy Hour," the final NASCAR Winston Cup practice session. As Grand Marshal, Arnold Palmer will issue the command for the 43 NASCAR Winston Cup drivers to start their engines for the inaugural Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A limited number of two-event tickets are still available by calling (305) 230-RACE. Speedway officials, along with local and state law enforcement agencies, are requesting that people with tickets plan to arrive early and review the traffic plans for alternate routes.
