Notes: Both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will run the same tire codes at Charlotte throughout Speed Weeks . . . this is the first time that Goodyear has brought out this exact combination of left- and right-side tires since Charlotte in May '06 . . . Goodyear brought a different left-side code (D-4074) for Nextel Cup and Busch teams to run at the October '06 races at the track . . . these teams have run this right-side code (D-4022) with a different left-side code earlier this season at Las Vegas . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Charlotte . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Goodyear Quote -- Stu Grant, General Manager, Global Race Tires: "In coming back to Lowe's Motor Speedway this May, we've decided to bring a slightly more conservative tire setup than we ran at the races there last October. We did that mainly for two reasons -- first because of the gains in speeds by the teams, and second because of the larger fuel cell and the resulting longer race runs the teams will be called on to handle. We will be bringing back the same right-side tire (D-4022) that we ran at both race weekends at Charlotte in 2006, and we even ran this left-side (D-4020) there last May, so teams do have some experience on this setup. We brought a left-side tire to Charlotte last October that offered slightly more grip, but we decided to go back to the May '06 setup to help insure a safe, competitive weekend."
