DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Steve Grissom made up for crashing on the last lap in a run to the checkered flag a year ago by winning the Goody's Headache Powder 300 NASCAR Busch Series race on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway. Grissom took the penultimate event of Speedweeks '96 by using the drafting help of Jimmy Spencer, who was a lap down, to catch leader Dale Jarrett and pass him with five laps left in the 120-lap race. Grissom averaged 140.772 mph in the World Championship Wrestling Chevrolet and beat Jarrett's Band-Aid Ford by .19 seconds. Rounding out the top five were Mark Martin's Winn-Dixie Ford, Larry Pearson's Stanley Tools Chevrolet and Curtis Markham's Lysol Pontiac. Defending champion Chad Little finished 19th, two laps down. Speedweeks '96 concludes on Sunday with the 38th Daytona 500 NASCAR/FIA Winston Cup Series race, scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
