BUCKSHOT TO RUN IN LYSOL 200 AT WATKINS GLEN RON FELLOWS TO DRIVE IN BOTH BULLY HILL VINEYARDS 150 AND LYSOL 200

Watkins Glen, NY (June 11, 1999) - Buckshot Jones was the first entry received for the upcoming Lysol 200 at Watkins Glen. Jones, a rookie in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series will be skipping the race at Sears Point and instead will try to capture the Empire Cup by driving the No.00 Cheez-It Pontiac at Watkins Glen on June 27th. "Competing on road courses is fun and totally different from what we normally do," said Jones. "I don't have a lot of experience on road courses and we didn't get to test at Sonoma, so we chose to come to Watkins Glen with the Busch team and get some track time." Standing in Buckshot's way to victory will be last year's Lysol 200 defending champion, Ron Fellows. Fellows, a crafty road course expert, will be driving for NEMCO Motorsports and attempting to sweep both races over the weekend. He will be driving the No. 87 Bell South Mobility Chevrolet in the Lysol 200 and the No. 87 AER Manufacturing Chevrolet in the Bully Hill Vineyards 150. Fellows, a winner of the '97 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Watkins Glen, has become a familiar name in Victory Circle. He has wins at Watkins Glen in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the NASCAR Busch Series, the Trans-Am Series, and qualified on the outside pole for last year's NASCAR Winston Cup race. "Watkins Glen has been a good track for me," said Fellows. "The new surface should make for even better speeds and closer competition. We would be happy with any victory, but the combination weekend presents a special opportunity to win both races." Local favorite and 1997 Lysol 200 winner, Mike McLaughlin, recently tested at Watkins Glen, now considered his home track. "It's just been one of those frustrating years," said McLaughlin. "We will be racing on a new track surface at Watkins Glen and we'll be bringing the same car we won with in '97. We feel like we have a legitimate chance to turn around our season at The Glen." Several NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Winston Cup Series teams will be in town for a blockbuster testing session on the new surface at Watkins Glen on Tuesday, June 15. Fans that have purchased Lysol 200, Bully Hill Vineyards 150, or Frontier @ The Glen tickets will be admitted free of charge. Fans should present their Lysol 200 / Bully Hill Vineyards 150 tickets at the gate to gain free admission or pick up a voucher at the ticket office if they have purchased Frontier @ The Glen NASCAR Winston Cup tickets. All other spectators can take in the action for only $10.00 at the gate. Gate 4 will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tickets for the Lysol 200 and Bully Hill Vineyards 150 are now available.
