BRETT BODINE - No. 11 Hooters Restaurants Taurus (qualified 33rd) - "That's a good lap for us, that's the fastest one all day. I just hope it's good enough to get us in."

GREG BIFFLE - No. 16 Grainger Taurus (qualified 15th)

"These guys are doing a great job with the Grainger cars here lately. We've struggled a lot, but we're getting our game together here. I made a little mistake, but I'm real happy. I think it'll hold up. It'll probably hold up for a top-15, maybe top-20 starting spot, and that's going to be good for us here in our first time in a Cup car at Bristol."

WHAT WAS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING? "I didn't have a good run on my second set of stickers, and just didn't get a good lap on 'em; somebody pulled out in front of me. I knew that our car was capable of at least a .30, .28 maybe, and did a .22, so I'm real happy."

MARK MARTIN - No. 6 Viagra Taurus (qualified 19th)

"I'd have liked to have done better. I think we had a little bit better car than that, but we just didn't hit it just right on the lap. It'll be alright."

DAVE BLANEY - No. 77 Jasper Engines & Transmissions Taurus (qualified 31st)

"It felt fine to me, it was just slow. I don't know. I can't make a good lap around here in qualifying, it don't seem like."

JEFF BURTON - No. 99 Citgo Taurus (qualified 29th)

"I don't know why I have a tough time getting around here for two laps. We worked real hard today and got made the car better and better throughout the day. But I've never seemed to qualify that well here."

WITH THAT IN MIND, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT SUNDAY? "We're going to have our work cut out for us. But, my car drives pretty good, it's just a little slower than I'd like it to be. It drives pretty well. I certainly don't, based on where we start, make a determination on how we're going to run on Sunday. I think we can make this car do what we need it to do, and where we start won't be a determining factor whether we win the race or not, I don't think."

KURT BUSCH - No. 97 Rubbermaid Taurus (qualified 9th)

"It was over before I knew it. At this place, you qualify so quickly. I saw Mr. Newman putting away a 14-second lap, and so I knew the pole was out of our range, so I just wanted to make sure we got a solid lap, and that might put us in the top 10. It's a good start for us, short track, track position's key, so we're happy with that lap."

ON HIS SEASON, TO DATE. "It seems like the first couple races, we raced through Rockingham and then we had Vegas and Atlanta, which were a couple of lulls for us, and when we made changes on the car they weren't in the positive direction; we didn't understand why. So we went back, we looked at the wind tunnel a little bit on what we had at Atlanta and what we're taking to Texas next week, and we cut the nose off the car. We think we know what we need to have, and so Atlanta and Vegas were very good indicators and teachers of what we need to do. This is a Bristol, a short track, this is where Jimmy Fennig's experience helps me go, so it's a whole team effort."

RICKY RUDD - No. 21 Motorcraft Taurus (qualified 34th)

"We're disappointed, we though we'd do better than that. We ran something like 17th-fastest in practice, and it was a little bit too tight on the exit of the corner, I'm not really sure why it tightened up, tires or whatever."
