The Fords of Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney topped the speed chart in Happy Hour at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday.
Keselowski’s lap of 196.423 mph came on his sixth lap of the tandem run with Blaney, who posted a fast lap of 196.342mph.
“It’s really nice to have some consistency that helps us out a little bit,” Blaney said after the session.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., who won here in the spring, was third (194.721mph), with the fellow Chevrolets of Tony Stewart (194.603 mph), Kasey Kahne (194.161 mph), Kevin Harvick (194.137 mph), Kurt Busch (194.133 mph), Danica Patrick (194.031 mph), Jimmie Johnson (193.776 mph) and Jeff Gordon 193.392 mph).
Keselowski also had the Best five-Consecutive Lap Average of 195.40 mph, followed by Blaney, Earnhardt, Johnson, Patrick, Busch, Stewart, Casey Mears, Harvick and Trevor Bayne.
Earnhardt was the only driver to qualify for the Best 10 and 15-Lap Consecutive Average — 193.82 mph and 192.27 mph, respectively.
Tony Stewart ran the most laps (25) of the 30 drivers that participated in final practice.
