Bowyer and Gordon incident causes fist-cuffs at PIR

The AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Phoenix International Raceway was red flagged due to a crash that involved Clint Bowyer in the No. 15 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of Jeff Gordon. The incident produced a late-race brawl between the two crews on pit road.

After the initial incident, both crews were showing their fists and exchanging words while NASCAR officials attempted to separate the teams.

Bowyer was still in his Toyota but when the futile attempts to get him back on track were exhausted, he exited his car on pit road and ran to the garage area and attempted to enter the hauler of the No. 24 team but was restrained from doing so.

"It's about the fifth time he's (Bowyer) run us over, and we're getting tired of that," Gordon's crew chief Alan Gustafson said. "If you're going to race like that, you shouldn't be made when you get it back."

On the other side, Brian Pattie - crew chief of the No. 15 said, "All I know is we were running top-five there and 24 (Jeff Gordon) kind of went up there. I don't know. We must have got into him and he retaliated -- so we'll see what happens here. Post-race got a little exciting."
