Danica Patrick (200.624 mph), Justin Allgaier (200.574 mph), Clint Bowyer (200.393 mph) and Kasey Kahne (200.372mph) posted the top-five speeds.

AJ Allmendinger, Trevor Bayne, Casey Mears, David Ragan and Paul Menard rounded out the top 10 quickest laps.

Forty-five drivers took part in the initial practice for the CampingWorld.com 500. Matt Kenseth’s 35 laps were the most run by any competitor.

At the 25-minute mark, some drivers worked on single-car runs — with the exception of the Team Penske Fords. Last weekend’s winner Joey Logano led the trio followed by Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney for eight laps.
