KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger)

THE LAST TWO RACES, THE NO. 9 HAS FALLEN BACK IN THE FIELD EARLY, BUT IMPROVED AS THE RACE PROGRESSED FOR A STRONG FINISH. IS THE NASCAR NO TESTING RULE A FACTOR WHERE TRACK TIME ATTRIBUTES TO IMPROVEMENT? "I don't think so. We've had pretty good starting spots. Last week at Las Vegas, we fell back because we missed it (the setup) early. We were better toward the end. We made the right adjustments. We did everything the best we could and didn't have any issues. We passed a lot of cars because we didn't have any issues and got a pretty good finish out of it."

AFTER THE FIRST TWO RACES, ASSESS HOW THE NO. 9 BUDWEISER TEAM IS DOING? "I feel like the 9 team is doing a great job. I think we have a really good team. The guys work hard. They don't make mistakes. They do an awesome job. That's what you need to have a good season. We do need our cars to be better if we want to win races and make The Chase. Our team is really good."

WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY YOUR CARS NEED TO BE BETTER? "It means a little bit of everything. It's hard for me as a driver to put a finger on it. I would say mechanically, we're off a little bit. Maybe chassis. Maybe engine. Maybe tires. Maybe aero. The way the car feels, it just seems like we're off a little bit everywhere. Which ones we hit on most, I don't really know. That's for the engineers and the people that work on the cars to figure out. Then I'll drive them."

ARE YOU COMFORTABLE IN THE CAR? "I feel comfortable every time I'm in the car; I know what's going on. To be comfortable and fast, we're not there yet."
