KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)

ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THAT LAP?

"It was a good lap. I thought I had a lot of fun out there. The guys gave me a great car to go do it with. The tracks cooling down a little bit and hopefully we'll end up top ten, but there's going to be some guys that take some shots at us."

WHAT WILL THE TRACK DO TONIGHT?

"I always think it gets a little better. Each and every time a car makes a lap it's another minute where the track gets to cool off. Maybe it gets to a point where it goes too far and yet it's not very cold out tonight. Sometimes we qualify here where it's in the low forties. Today we should be fine and it'll get a little better as the night progresses."

WAS THE CAR A HANDFUL TONIGHT?

"It wasn't a handful. I just wanted to get back to the throttle sooner and so if I knew if I took a little bit to get back to the throttle someone is going to beat me to it and maybe run a quicker lap.

"It was a great lap that the car drove. I was ecstatic with the lap at the time that I did it. Not so happy right now with the way that it all shook out. The car was great. It was set up by the crew and they did a phenomenal job to allow me to go out there, stand on the gas hard and hope for the best. I thought our qualifying draw would hurt us in the beginning but then it seemed to play out to where the track was fairly even for everybody. Maybe even a little slower at the end. Congratulations to the Biff he put a great lap together."

HOW DOES YOUR STARTING POSITION PLAY INTO THE RACE?

"With starting second we will be outside pole. That will give us a great opportunity to get the car out in clean air and run that first run within the top two positions. It will give us a good pit box selection. We won't get that first one. The first one is really key at a track like this because any yellow that pops out cars are going to hit pit road. So that first pit box is more important for limping out over that line and beating some of the guys out. We will be back looking for an opening to help our car to where we don't have any run ins on pit road. We'll go from there. The car has been turning real well for me so far this weekend. We've had to tighten it up quite a bit in race trim and in qualifying trim. Maybe we were just a little soft on our air pressure for qualifying tonight because I was wobbling around in one and two but really good in three and four. It was a good balance. I thought we had the speed to get the pole but just a little shy in our Dodge tonight."
