KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger) Qualified 2nd

"This team is doing a great job. We had a really good practice. We made a lot of adjustments for qualifying and they really helped. That was a great lap for our Budweiser Dodge. I think it should be a top five, top 10 for sure."

"I was really happy with the lap, picking up a lot from where we were in practice as far as the qualifying side of things. I thought I could have got a little bit more in the middle of (Turns) Three and Four and back to the start/finish, but I still don't think I would have gone as fast as (Martin) Truex. He ran a great lap. It will be nice to start on the front row. It's a big race for us tomorrow night."

WHAT IS YOUR OUTLOOK TOMORROW NIGHT?

"The 18 and 83 have been really strong and we had a rough race at Bristol. We got over that and went to a short track this week and did a day of testing. Hopefully, that will help us at Richmond. We've had a great day today. I look at tomorrow night as going for it, running as hard as we can, bringing the car home in one piece and getting all the points we can. Hopefully, it handles and things go well. No mistakes, I think we should have a great shot at making the Chase. To me, that's the goal. That's all we want to do right now, to figure out how to make the Chase. Everybody wants to be in the Chase. Over the last month, it's been a big topic. It's so close from sixth to 13th, even 16th four weeks ago. It's pretty exciting. I'm glad we're a part of it. Hopefully, we can hang on and stay in the top 12."

HOW IS YOUR CAR IN RACE TRIM?

"Our car is great in race trim. We ran most of practice in race trim and I was really happy with the car."

WHAT'S YOUR MINDSET COMING INTO THIS WEEKEND?

"Just try and get everything we can point wise. All of us communicating and working well, I think that we have a great shot tomorrow night. We run well here and good at Bristol. We've come here and been fast so far and hopefully go to Richmond, do the same thing and make the Chase."

IS THE UNCERTAINITY OF NOT MAKING THE CHASE UNNERVING?

"It's actually kind of exciting. I feel like when the Chase is over this year with the TV and the fans coming out, just how big of a deal it is. It always seems that it's close between two or three drivers. This year it's six, seven, eight drivers all the way to who's going to make the Chase. To me that's pretty exciting and it's good for everybody. At least we have a shot. We'll just do what we can and hopefully we're in it."
