Allmendinger and Sears Auto Center/Valvoline Dodge Team Look to Carry Momentum into Atlanta Motor Speedway

STATESVILLE, N.C. -- A.J. Allmendinger rejuvenated the Sears Auto Center/Valvoline team with a strong finish at Martinsville Speedway last weekend. The team's 15th-place finish was its second best of the year pushing it 60 points closer to the top 35 in owner points. The No. 10 team now trails 35th place by 271 points.

This week the Gillett Evernham Motorsports team turns its attention toward the blistering fast, 1.5-mile oval of Atlanta Motor Speedway. In the spring, the Sears Auto Center/Valvoline team finished 21st.

In his only Atlanta start, Allmendinger finished 16th at this race last year. Allmendinger will drive the remainder of the season for team.

"We want to ride our momentum from last week into Atlanta. It's a fun track and real racy. There's a ton of room to move around and find different lines to run. I've only raced there once in the Cup car but I really enjoyed it and we had a good finish.

"It's not unrealistic to think we can get the No. 10 back into the top 35 in owner points. That is what Gillett Evernham Motorsports asked me to do, get this thing as close as possible to the top 35. I'm going to give it my all over the next four races. We took a big chunk out of our point's deficit last week and we're hoping for more of the same at Atlanta."

Chassis info: The No. 10 crew will bring chassis No. 250. Backup is 218.
