TEAM CHEVY IMPALA SS INSIDE THE GARAGE AT ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY -- ALBA COLON, GM RACING NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES PROGRAM MANAGER: "Atlanta is the second consecutive race for our Chevy teams on a 1.5-mile track. Like all of these intermediate tracks, Atlanta Motor Speedways has its own distinct personality. About the only thing the various mile-and-a-half tracks have in common is the distance. The surface, the banking, the configuration of the corners, just to name a few components, makes each of these tracks their own animal.

"Atlanta is the fastest track on the schedule. In addition, it is wide and smooth that makes for numerous groves for the drivers to run. Many times you will see cars three and four wide, an exciting sight for the fans. Consequently, the setup for each of these tracks varies substantially from one to another. While our teams do gather tremendous data from one track that will transfer on some level to their Impala SS race cars on other 1.5-mile tracks, they are continuing to rely more heavily than ever on data from our GM Racing engineers working in conjunction with their team engineering staff.

"With our strong showing at California and again at Las Vegas, we are confident our Chevy drivers will be in the thick of things battling at the front of the field for the victory."
