ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger)

HOW WAS YOUR QUALIFYING RUN? "It was OK. We were so bad in practice today; my guys pretty much rebuilt this race car for qualifying tonight. It was a great effort; the car drove a lot better. So that gives us confidence for tomorrow's practice and Sunday. It not the qualifying spot we wanted, but it's a long race on Sunday."

WHY DID YOUR TEAM HAVE SO MUCH TROUBLE TODAY? "These new tires are nothing like we tested with. We're having a hard time getting hold of the race track on these tires. They have thrown us for a loop, nothing like we tested with. We wasted two days of testing here in the fall. We're trying to learn and make them better. We'll try to make the car better tomorrow in practice."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "We were a lot better than we were in practice. We didn't get much practice on it so it took a minute to travel right. Still it was a pretty good lap for the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge for not having a lot of practice."

***

ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 Valvoline Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "There was a ton of grip. I just didn't drive it hard enough. I had my braking points. I had my lifting points from practice and I kind of did what I did in practice and the track just had a lot more grip. I normally go out there and overdrive the corners so bad that I backed off early and thought I could get back to the gas early and it just wasn't very good."

RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "I'm disappointed with the lap that we laid down. It wasn't our best and I thought we'd have a shot at the pole. The No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger was a little too tight in the center and we just didn't get the lap we needed to have a shot at the pole."

***

KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "We fought a tight car and just never got the run we were looking for in qualifying. We had little practice this afternoon and just couldn't get the right balance when we went out tonight to qualify."

***

REED SORENSON (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "The tire that Goodyear brought back is not very good. We tested on a different tire than what we're running here. This new tire is about a second, 1.5 seconds slower, so it's pretty tough on the team to try and figure out how to get this thing to work now."

***

JUAN PABLO MONTOYA (No. 42 Wrigley Big Red Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "A disappointing run for us overall. We were just really tight and couldn't get the car to turn. I had my hands all the way across the steering wheel trying to get it to turn and it was just too tight. We'll take a look at the numbers and try and improve on during some practice time tomorrow."

***

PATRICK CARPENTIER (No. 10 Cintas Dodge Charger) "A nerve-wrecking lap. I've done some roller coaster rides, but never got stressed like that. The first lap wasn't fast enough and we needed a much better one the second lap. I went in so hard through the corner -- the same thing in 3 and 4 and the car got stuck sideways a little bit. I'm pretty happy and we're going to be in the race with the Dodge Cintas so we're happy about that."

***

BOBBY LABONTE (No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "Balance wise I was just a little too tight. I didn't really think it would be that tight and we never really go the first good lap out of it. The second lap was about the same and really never got to run the right line. Overall it was an OK lap. We just wished we got more out of the first lap."

***

DARIO FRANCHITTI (No. 41 Fastenal Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "The Fastenal Dodge felt pretty good. It was the most aggressive that I've been driven the car. I have to just learn it to get on it. I was amazed with how much grip was on the track. We could have gone a little bit quicker, but I didn't make any mistakes and I'm pretty."

***

SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Penske Truck Rental Dodge Charger)

ON QUALIFYING: "The car was too tight. We didn't get a whole lot of time to do qualifying runs. We worked on race set-up practice early part of the session not knowing what we're getting tomorrow. Being fortunate enough to know that we are in the race we're able to do that. Obviously we'd like to qualify better, we were just too tight."
