No. 9 Team Will Try for Their Second Consecutive Top-10 Finish at Pocono

CONCORD, N.C. (June 5, 2012) - Coming off of a top-10 finish last weekend in Dover, Marcos Ambrose and his DEWALT crew have confidence and momentum as they head to The Tricky Triangle this week. The No. 9 team will look to bring home their second consecutive top-10 at the newly paved 2.5-mile tri-oval in Long Pond, Pa., as Ambrose will make his sixth career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Pocono Raceway on Sunday.

The Australian native has one top-10 finish at Pocono. His best finish (sixth) came in 2009 and his best start (seventh) came in last year's spring race. He has completed 995 of 1,204 laps attempted at the Pennsylvania track. Ambrose enters this weekend's 400-mile race in 19th place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings.

In addition to this weekend's normal racing activities, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams will have two extra days of testing at Pocono on Wednesday and Thursday. Pocono Raceway was recently repaved and the additional track time will allow drivers and teams to assess the new racing surface ahead of Sunday's Pocono 400 presented by #NASCAR.

Don't miss your chance to see Ambrose this weekend in Pocono. Marcos will be visiting the SPEED stage located in the infield near the Cup Series garage for Trackside on Friday. Come out and watch him live or tune into SPEED at 5 p.m. ET to listen to him talk about his racing season to date, as well as play some games and talk trivia with Rutledge Wood and Kyle Petty.

Ambrose's car will have a different look this weekend as DEWALT will return as the primary partner of the No. 9 Ford Fusion.

Marcos Ambrose's Thoughts on Racing at Pocono:

"We've got a lot of time to spend in Pocono this week. We're going to go out there and test on Wednesday and Thursday and get some rubber packed into the track, so hopefully we can really get a decent feel of how the racing will be on Sunday. I think it is going to be crazy fast and by the end of the weekend we are going to wish it was 20-year-old pavement again. The fans are going to be in for a real treat since NASCAR has made Pocono a new racetrack with the repave and configuration changes. Who knows what 'The Tricky Triangle' is going to have in store for us, it's just going to be really interesting to see.

"My RPM team has really been on a roll the last month giving me fast race cars, and after a 10th-place finish in Dover we've got some momentum heading into this weekend's 400-mile race. I enjoy going to Pocono because it is unlike any other track on the circuit. It's the only track that has three turns instead of four, so I'm looking forward to the challenge. My DEWALT team and I are going to work really hard to bring home another top-10 or better finish this weekend."

Comments from Crew Chief Todd Parrott on Going to Pocono:

"We don't really know what to expect going into Pocono this weekend since the track has been repaved. Our teammate Aric Almirola tested there about a month ago so we can share some notes with the No. 43 team this week. We've got two days to get rubber down and figure out the track before we get into our regularly scheduled weekend activities on Friday. Hopefully, we can take some good notes on Wednesday and Thursday and be ready to go for Sunday's big race. Marcos and our DEWALT team have a boost of confidence going into this weekend and we are expecting to have another fast car and get another good finish on Sunday."

Chassis History:

The No. 9 RPM team has prepared chassis No. 805 for this weekend's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at Pocono Raceway. This DEWALT Ford was run previously this season at Richmond and Phoenix.
