Richard Childress Racing's Kevin Harvick took the first win of the 2013 season. The now named Sprint Unlimited "shootout" was a non-points race to open the NASCAR Cup season.
At this time, qualifying for the Daytona 500 is still continuing; however Danica Patrick currently holds the provisional pole.
Stewart-Haas Racing's Danica Patrick becomes first female to win a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole. Last year she won the Nationwide Series pole at Daytona.

Michael Waltrip and Kasey Kahne fastest as Sprint Cup drivers practice for Thursday’s Duel races to set final starting lineup except for the front row which locked in after Sunday’s qualifying.

Kevin Harvick pocketed his second win at Daytona International Speedway. His first was the non-points Unlimited for the cash and now he has locked up a spot on the second row for the Daytona 500.
In the second fastest race in Duel history, Kyle Busch led 19 of the 60 laps to lock in a spot on the second row for the Daytona 500.

Kevin Harvick won his second race in five days at Daytona with his win in the first Duel. In near record speed Kyle Busch took his second dual victory in Duel #2.
During the week Patrick has been surprised by the surge in female backers including visits by the daughters of NASCAR drivers Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon.

Jimmie Johnson wins his second Daytona 500 with Hendrick Chevrolet teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. on his bumper. Danica Patrick takes 8th place.

Prior to his second win in the Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season opener, the Hendrick Motorsport team dubbed Jimmie Johnson "Five Time". Today they changed his nickname to "Seven Time".
