Matt Kenseth took the victory at Kansas, and later the team was penalized for non-conforming parts on his Toyota. The Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team appealed the decision which as decided on by the NASCAR Appeal Panel.

No. 20 Joe Gibbs Toyota, sort of, won their appeal while Penske Racing lost their cause except for the suspensions being reduced.
The Chief Appellate Officer for National Stock Car Racing statement did include one minor change by reducing the suspensions for 7 of the team members.
