SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:

"I always look forward to this no-holds-barred race for the win in the Nextel Open. You can be aggressive on your setup and not worry about the consequences in the points. The Open will also be interesting because it's the first time we will have a Cup race on the new track surface. Goodyear has definitely fixed any tire wear situation that they had at Lowe's Motor Speedway. We probably cut the speed down a second and a half from our first test session there with the softer tires to the second test session with the harder ones. During the most recent test session all the teams did a good job of getting speed out of them. The good thing about the tires is that I think it will make the drivers take several different lines to find speed on the track, but if we just stuck with the softer tires everyone would be hugging the bottom."

RODNEY CHILDERS QUOTES:

"The Valvoline Dodge we are taking to the All-Star Challenge is the car Jeremy won Michigan with last year. We used it in both Goodyear tire tests at Charlotte on the new track surface. As far as the chassis we inherited from last year's team, it is the best one. We took it to Fontana to race it. We were fastest in practice but we just missed a little on the setup for the race. It was the first time for Scott and me working with one of these Evernham intermediate cars. We hope that having two tests on Lowe's Motor Speedway's new surface will give us an advantage over some of the other teams. When they switched the tires between our test sessions we lost some information there but not much. By our calculation, on these new tires Goodyear has us running, we could go 208 laps without wearing them out and just under 40 laps or so on a tank of fuel, which is going to make it interesting because everyone won't be taking four tires when they pit."

QUICK FACTS:

* Scott Riggs participated in both Goodyear tire tests at Lowe's this spring.

* Riggs has only driven in two Nextel All-Star Challenge open events, finishing 24th in '04 and 28th in '06.

* The rear quarter panels, lower hood, and decklid of the No. 10 Valvoline Dodge will carry the brands of Zerex, Pyroil, and Car Brite for the first time this year.

* The No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge has been running at the end of all ten Cup races in which it has competed this season (0 DNF's).
