DODGE AT THE SPRINT ALL-STAR CHALLENGE

Dodge has one win at the Sprint All-Star Challenge. That win came last year when Kasey Kahne won after the fans voted him into the field.

Kurt Busch (Loudon) and Kasey Kahne (Lowe's 1) each qualified for the 2009 Sprint All-Star Challenge via 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event wins.

Two Dodge drivers have earned berths in the Sprint All-Star race via a fan vote -- Kyle Petty (2006) and Kasey Kahne (2008).

Penske Racing (Rusty Wallace-1989) and Richard Petty Motorsports (Kasey Kahne-2008) each have won the All-Star Challenge.

DODGES DRIVERS:

Kurt Busch, No 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger

"This year, we're bringing the best race cars that we possibly can for both weekends and really look to do well in both races. I think we're going to be super strong. We're definitely going to go all out for the All0x2010Star race, but run our conservative and smart approach for the 600.

"I've told my engine department, 'Bring the biggest horsepower you can.' If we go up in a ball of flames, we go up in a ball of flames. I want to do it while we're leading with all the horsepower that we can get. With no points on the line, it's just about the million bucks and of course, that big trophy and the bragging rights.

"You jump into the All-Star and it's just a whole different atmosphere and attitude. This race is just an entirely different animal. It's a 10-lap shoot-out at the finish, with a cool million dollars on the line. You can bet that things will surely get heated up and there will be fireworks for sure."

Kasey Kahne, No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger

"I think the Sprint All-Star Race is going to be a lot of fun. It's pretty cool to go out there and really have nothing to lose. You don't have to worry about the points or anything like that. It's pretty much, go all out and try to win the thing and don't worry about salvaging a top five or something like that."

Sam Hornish Jr., Mobil 1 Dodge Charger

"What can I say...it's the All-Star Race. The Mobil 1 team had a great run last season in the Showdown (finished second) and the All-Star Race and we are excited about our chances to race our way in to the main event again this season. Hopefully we can improve on our performance from last year.

"We've been really good at the 1.5-mile tracks, and at Lowe's Motor Speedway in particular. With the new 10-lap final segment format in the All-Star Race, we are working on getting speed right out of the box and being fast on restarts. I 'm excited about this weekend and this Mobil 1 team is ready to race into the main event once again this year."

Elliott Sadler, No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger

"This whole weekend is just awesome in my opinion. I'm happy we have a partner like Sprint to host these events. This weekend means a lot to all the race teams because it takes place in everyone's back yard. There is a lot of pride on the line. Team members have families that get to come out and watch them work. And first and foremost this weekend is all about winning! No points racing, just putting everything you have on the line to finish first. I absolutely love this race as a driver and even more as a fan!"

David Stremme, No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge Charger

"The NASCAR All-Star Showdown is a cool event. It is fun for the teams because there are no points on the line. You can put yourself in positions you normally wouldn't, because it is all or nothing. We have to first get our Dodge in the main event by racing our way in. I know the guys are working really hard on the car and feel really good about our chances. We have shown our strength on the mile-and-a-half tracks this year and I am excited about this weekend's race."

Reed Sorenson, No. 43 McDonald's McCafe Dodge Charger

"I love what Sprint has done with the Showdown and the All-Star Challenge. It's a pretty simple strategy. You just go out there and either win or finish second. I'm pretty confident we can do that. We've started to come around the last four weeks and I feel like we have a great shot Saturday night to get into the Challenge. Once you get in, anything can happen. I think it is a lot more relaxed of a weekend until the green flag drops then its pretty much go like heck. That's probably why its so popular with the fans."

AJ Allmendinger, No. 44 Hunt Brothers Pizza Dodge Charger

"We plan to win the race on Saturday, but our backup plan is to get in through the fan vote. We are racers and if you have a chance to compete you do it to the best of your ability whether its on the track or in the fan vote. Sprint has created something really cool here and we've worked hard to get as many votes as we can. We'll keep campaigning right up until they tell us the vote is over."

Roy McCauley, Crew Chief, No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge Charger

"The All-Star race is a great event for the fans. The show seems to get better and better each year. I am sure this year will be no exception. We have two goals for Saturday. The first is to make the main event. I know David [Stremme] is eager and capable of making into the All-Star event. Last year, (Penske Racing teammate) Sam [Hornish, Jr.] made it in and I am hoping to do the same this year. Once we accomplish our first goal, we will try and learn some things which will help us for the Coca-Cola 600. Since we cannot test, I am going into this weekend trying to learn as much as I can that will transfer to next weekend."

Richard Petty, Richard Petty Motorsports

"I love what Sprint has done with the Showdown and the All-Star Challenge. It's a pretty simple strategy. You just go out there and either win or finish second. I'm pretty confident we can do that. We've started to come around the last four weeks and I feel like we have a great shot Saturday night to get into the Challenge. Once you get in, anything can happen.
