NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES CREW MEMBERS PENALIZED FOR RULES VIOLATIONS AT MOTOPLEX SPEEDWAY

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 4, 2010) -- NASCAR announced today that two crew members that compete in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 have been penalized as a result of a rules violation committed Saturday, July 31 at Motoplex Speedway in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.

Mike Grove, crew member of the No. 3 team, and David Wight, crew member of the No. 17 team, were found to be in violation of Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing; involved in an altercation in Victory Lane) of the 2010 NASCAR rule book.

Grove and Wight have each been fined $200, suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid, placed on probation for the next three NASCAR Canadian Tire Series events, and placed on NASCAR probation until Aug. 25, 2010.
