PIERRE BOURQUE GAINS EIGHT SPOTS IN AARON'S DREAM MACHINE IN TORONTO
Toronto, ON. (July 17th, 2010) Pierre Bourque was anxious to take to the streets at Exhibition Place in his #00 Aaron's Dream Machine Dodge as round number four of the Canadian NASCAR series marked several first. It was the first time Bourque and the series had been part of the Toronto Indy weekend. And it was also the first time a series race was broadcast live on television.
It was a frustrating start to the weekend as ignition problems limited the practice time for the #00 Aaron's Dream Machine Dodge team. The resulting qualifying effort of twenty sixth also fell well short of expectations. "It was tough to swallow" said Bourque "but I also knew we could learn quickly and also improve our position during the race" he added.
Bourque did exactly that with the #00 Aaron's Dream Machine Dodge. When the green flag waved he began his march forward. "Right away on the first lap I took the opportunity to pass a few back markers and didn't see them again" said Bourque.
From this point on Bourque looked to learn as much as possible and keep the #00 Aaron's Dream Machine Dodge forward. "There were some really good races all the way through the field today" remarked the driver. "When you're racing with others who haven't seen the track you are all racing at the same level" he explained. "So as the faster cars came around I studied their racing line and really improved a lot. If we were to race again tomorrow, which I'd love to do, we'd be that much better for it" he added.
There were other positives for the #00 Aaron's Dream Machine Dodge driver as well. "I really love the track, it's a great location and wonderful to be here with backing of Aaron's. And we did finish well enough to maintain our spot in the top-ten of the overall championship" he added.
Bourque also expects he'll be able to use much of what he learned this week at the next event in Edmonton. "Just watching these guys and some of the different lines they use you learn so much so quickly and I expect when we get to Edmonton the #00 Aaron's Dream Machine Dodge will be running much better right from the get go" he stated.
