Hamilton, ON: The #88 Jacombs Racing/Lou's BBQ/Inroble Brake Products/FAG Bearings Ford Taurus Team are looking forward to their sixth appearance this weekend at the Toronto Molson Indy.
After two disappointing outings at the Mosport Int'l Raceway and Cayuga Speedway last weekend, the Jacombs Racing Team is ready to turn the page and put some solid finishes on the board over the remainder of the season. While they had a very fast car on Sunday at Cayuga, their early pit stop for adjustments and tires proved costly. Upon re-starting at the rear of the field an altercation right in front of the 88 Taurus proved to difficult to miss and the front of the race car took a heavy hit. After spending about 20 laps in the pits making repairs they returned to the race, where they followed leader #1 Peter Gibbons for 100 laps. "The car was really strong and we were lucky that most of the damage was cosmetic," stated Jacombs. "It's just to bad that the incident happened right in front of us and I just couldn't get around it or we could have been in the top five for sure."
The CASCAR Super Series teams are taking to the streets of Toronto on Friday and Saturday for the sixth straight year. CASCAR is a highlight of the Toronto Indy weekend and they have built up a large fan base over the years.
