Micks going into St. Eustache on high note for round two
Team second in points in NASCAR-Canadian Tire series
MT. ALBERT, ONTARIO (May 30, 2008) -- Kerry Micks plans to keep the momentum going when he unloads his Ford Fusion at Autodrome St. Eustache Saturday night for the second round of the 2008 NASCAR-Canadian Tire Series.
In last week's opener at Cayuga Speedway, Micks, from Mount Albert, Ontario, had the fans off their seats in the race's latter stages as he motored through the field to capture second place.
"We had a good run at Cayuga," said Kerry Micks. "Our strategy was to pit later for tires than the rest, and it worked. Although we were out of the top ten past the half-way mark, the fresher tires allowed us to run through the pack. I think if I'd had another few laps I could have taken the race."
Micks started the 200-lap Cayuga contest in sixth spot.
Micks is no stranger to the tight St. Eustache oval, winning pole position here in 2006 and winning the event in 2005. He feels his team and car preparation are in excellent form, and is hoping for another podium finish.
"We've got a good combination right now," he explained. "My hat's off to the entire Beyond Digital Imaging team. We've got a good car and a good team."
"It's important that I thank Larry Chan and Court Armstrong of Beyond Digital Imaging Inc that provide the primary sponsorship of our racing team," added Micks. "I also want to thank our list of associate sponsors for their dedicated support."
The Kodak 250 at Autodrome St. Eustache is scheduled to start Saturday, May 31, at 8:35 p.m.
