WHITLOCK WINS AT AUTODROME ST.-EUSTACHE

ST.-EUSTACHE, Ont., Canada (May 25, 2009) -- Dave Whitlock started 11th and lost the lead twice, but he regained the top spot one final time and made it stick, winning the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Tufoil 250 at Autodrome St.-Eustache.

Whitlock, who has announced plans to retire from racing at the end of the 2009 season, led lap 114, then led laps 242-256 and finally the final two laps around the 4/10-mile track. The race was originally scheduled for 250 laps but late-race cautions extended the event to 256 laps.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, as well as the NASCAR Camping World Series East and West. The three series use the same line of bias-ply Goodyear Eagles racing tires.

Kerry Micks, who started seventh, finished second, .244 of a second behind the winner. Ron Beauchamp Jr. was third, followed by defending series champion Scott Steckly and Mark Dilley. There were 15 lead changes.

Whitlock averaged 48.512 mph for the race distance and Steckly averaged 83.454 mph on his pole-winning qualifying lap.
