VORTEX BRAKE PADS 200 IS NEW NAME FOR MOSPORT INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY'S NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES RACE WEEKEND IN JUNE

(BOWMANVILLE, ON -- May 12, 2010) Vortex Brake Pads and Mosport International Raceway have announced a two-year agreement that will see the Canadian manufacturer as title sponsor of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races at Mosport International Raceway, this year scheduled for June 11-13. Formerly called the High Octane 200, the event will now be known as the Vortex Brake Pads 200.

"We had a great experience sponsoring the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race last year at the Mosport Speedway oval and for the next two seasons are looking forward to having our name associated with the historic Mosport International Raceway circuit and their NASCAR Series race," said Bryan Watts, vice-president of Vortex Brake Pads. "Through our sponsorship of Ed Hakonson Racing (EHR) and driver Jason Hathaway, we've made inroads into this and other stock car racing championships. We believe our association with Mosport will open-up opportunities for us in the road racing community as well."

Vortex Brake Pads are made by OE Quality Friction Inc. (OEQF). Founded in 1997, OEQF is a leading aftermarket manufacturer that specializes in hydraulic and air disc pads and have over 1,400 brake pad applications. OEQF employs over 200 people in a state of the art 80,000 sq ft. manufacturing and warehouse facility located in Mississauga, Ontario.

"This is great news and I'm happy to be joining Vortex in making this sponsorship renewal announcement today. I'm proud that they've committed to at least two more years with Mosport and look forward to working with Vortex to grow what is already a popular event," said Mosport's president and general manager Myles Brandt.

In addition to the NASCAR race (the first of two Canadian Tire Series stops at Mosport this season), the weekend will also feature the country's top sedan racing series, the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship, along with two open-wheel series races, the U.S. based F2000 Championship and the Ontario Formula Ford Championship.

Tickets for the Vortex Brake Pads 200 are now on sale, with three-day weekend SuperTickets at $50 until June 9.
