Finishes eighth in Full Throttle 200 NASCAR event

BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO (August 10, 2008) -- Jim Lapcevich proved he can race with the best of them when he has a good car and some lucky breaks.

The driver of the Hamilton-based Fastline Motorsports Team placed eighth in the recent Full Throttle 200 on the Mosport Speedway oval over the weekend. The Hamilton, Ontario driver and stock car racing expert started 20th in the race, the eighth in the 13-round NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

"We're real happy with our finish," commented Lapcevich after the race, which was delayed a day due to rain. "With the way NASCAR lined us up according to our points going into the race, we started almost at the back of the 21-car field."

Driving the Tim Hortons Chevy Monte Carlo, Lapcevich was a lap down from the leaders at one point in the 200-lap event, but was the recipient of NASCAR's "Lucky Dog" award which gives the first driver a lap down his lap back.

"The Tim Hortons Chevrolet worked well all day," Lapcevich continued. "After getting back on the lead lap, we were able to pick up several positions. Unfortunately, there were too many caution laps for us to get a shot at a top five, which I'm sure our team was capable of."

Lapcevich was the winner of the POWERADE Power Move Of The Race for improving the most positions during the event.
