THOMSON WINS NASCAR CANADA RACE AT MOSPORT SPEEDWAY

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario (Aug. 23, 2010) -- Don Thomson Jr. led the Dickies 200 five different times. Four times he lost the lead.

But the fifth lead was the charm for Thomson. He took charge of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Mosport Speedway on lap 178 and never trailed again. It marked the second time Thomson has won at Mosport and was the sixth series win of his career.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Canadian Tire Series, as well as for the K&N Pro Series East and West. The bias-ply tires provided for the Canadian Tire Series come from the same line as those provided for the two K&N Pro Series. This allows competitors to race in all three series secure in the knowledge that they have experience with the tire package Goodyear provides.

Thomson averaged 55.368 mph for the 200-lap distance, edging the second place finisher, J.R. Fitzpatrick, by .378 of a second. Kerry Micks was third, followed by Ron Beauchamp and Pete Shepherd III. D.J. Kennington won the pole with a lap averaging 82.520 mph.

Fitzpatrick leads the standings with 1,509, followed by Kennington with 1,493.
