BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada (Aug. 12, 2007) -- Don Thomson Jr. won the Full Throttle Energy Drink 200 at Mosport Speedway and used that win to tighten the race for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series championship.

Thomson led the 200-lap race around the half-mile oval four times and averaged 60.317 mph. His victory margin over Mark Dilley was less than a second. Kerry Micks finished third, followed by Jason Hathaway and Derek Lynch.

The victory, combined with the 13th-place finish of points leader Andrew Ranger, brought Thomson within 37 points of the top spot in the standings.

J.R. Fitzpatrick won the pole with a qualifying lap of 83.364 mph.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Canadian Tire Series.
