SIMONE BATTLES BRAKES AT MOSPORT

BOWMANVILLE, ON, Saturday August 8, 2009: Anthony Simone driving the No. 95 Crown Modular/United Lumber Monte Carlo battled brake problems for the second half of the Vortex Brake Pad 200 and finished a disappointing 10th.

At the drop of the green flag the Crown Modular/United Lumber driver fell back a few positions but by lap 100 was running in fifth. As the green flag laps continued to count down with no sign of a caution, the Simone Monte Carlo starting falling back. By the time the caution flew at lap 141 Simone headed down pit road for much needed changes. The team gave him new tires and fuel but the braking system was not to be fixed and Simone held on for a tenth place finish. "I am really disappointed tonight as I think we could have been a top five tonight for sure," stated Simone after the race. "We are looking forward to the next race at Trois Rivieres though as our road course program has been really strong this year."

Andrew Ranger won his fourth race of the season followed closely by Scott Steckly and rounding out the top three was D. J. Kennington.
