Lapcevich brothers ready for Mosport road course

HAMILTON, ONTARIO (June 12, 2008) -- The Tim Hortons Fastline Motorsports racing team of Jeff and Jim Lapcevich is planning on a successful outing for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario June 15-16.

The Lapcevich brothers, based in Hamilton, Ontario have been successful on the 4-kilometer road course in the past.

Jeff had a win there in 2004, followed by a second place finish in 2005 and 2006 in the CASCAR Super Series. Sunday's race will be round three in the 2008 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

"Mosport has always been one of my favorite places to race," said Jeff Lapcevich. "The track is a challenge, that's what makes if fun for me. Most of the other teams either love it or hate it, as there doesn't seem to be much in between." The elder Lapcevich brother, who will run a limited schedule of selected events in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2008, is an experienced road racer and in the past has dominated many of the road course events in the series.

Driving an identical Tim Hortons Chevrolet Monte Carlo prepared by Fastline will be Jim Lapcevich, who has had two top-five finishes in 2006 and 2005.

"The #25 Team has been plagued with some bad luck over the years at Mosport, but I love running there," said Jim Lapcevich. "It's exciting and if we get the set-up right we'll be there at the end. There would be nothing better than standing on the podium with my brother Jeff on Father's Day. It's been a dream of ours for years." Joe Lapcevich, father of Jeff and Jim, is the main force behind the team, and as a former racer he has watched the family tradition of racing carried down to his sons.

Mosport International Raceway is Canada's largest motorsports complex. The 750-acre, multi-track facility is located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), north of Bowmanville, Ontario.

The Dickies 200 presented by Lucas Oil is part of the Sunoco Ultra 94 Father's Day Doubleheader Weekend at Mosport is scheduled to start Sunday, June 15 at 1:30 p.m.
