CASCAR Castrol Super Series: The Series announced a 12-race schedule for 2002, including a June 30 race at Cayuga Speedway in which five NASCAR Winston Cup regulars are expected to compete. The schedule begins May 19.

The schedule was announced at the annual champions banquet. Super Series champion Don Thomson Jr. was presented with The Castrol Cup and CASCAR West champion Carl Harr was honored as well.

Three other awards were handed out at the banquet. Dave Jacombs won the Reliability Award for completing 1,952 of the 1,966 laps of Series competition this year. That works out to 99.28 percent of the laps. Tim Ellas, Jacombs' crew chief, was named Crew Chief of the Year.

Teri MacDonald-Cadieux won the Hard Charger Award after gaining 90 positions during the 12-race schedule. MacDonald-Cadieux is the sister of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Randy MacDonald.

Goodyear is the only tire supplier for this Series.
