DILLEY FINDS DISAPPOINTMENT AGAIN IN EDMONTON

EDMONTON, AB, Sunday July 25 2010: Mark Dilley driver of the No. 9 PartSource/Dickies Dodge Avenger started the weekend with an eleventh place qualifying effort and crossed the finish line in sixteenth in Sunday's Canadian Tire 100.

Mary Dilley posted the eleventh quickest time in practice on Friday and Saturday and it was more of the same for Dilley in qualifying as he navigated the 14 turn 1.973 mile temporary road course with a time of 1:23.476 averaging 85.1 mph. Dilley will line up on the starting grid in eleventh.

As the green flag flew Dilley and his competitors were anxious, maybe a little too anxious and on the first lap heading into turn one everyone checked up and Dilley had nowhere to go. "We couldn't get stopped in time" commented Dilley, "Everyone checked up in front of us and it did serious damage to the hood of the car so we had to go to pit road."

There was no caution so the No.9 team had to work quickly to get Dilley back out on the track, which they managed to do without going down lap. But the leaders were coming and on lap seven they passed the driver of the No.9 PartSource/Dickies Dodge Avenger, putting Dilly a lap down.

Don't count Dilley out yet though, as the caution flag flew and Dilley was the recipient of the lucky dog and got his lap back.

The green flag flew one again and with only ten laps to go and a beat up car Dilley had his work cut out for him, but with a little determination Dilley managed to cross the finish line on the lead lap in sixteenth place.

Dilley has moved into seventh place in the points and is looking to gain on sixth. The next event for the No. 9 team will be the second event of the three-race Western Canada swing which will take place at Vernon. The Cruisin the Dub 300 presented by A & W will take place at British Columbia's Motoplex Speedway on Saturday July 31st.
