FITZPATRICK LEADS ONLY LAP THAT MATTERS, WINS AT EDMONTON

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada (July 22, 2007) -- J.R. Fitzpatrick's last-lap pass was a winner in the Canadian Tire Series 100 at the Grand Prix of Edmonton today. It was the second straight week in which a series race was decided on the final lap.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The cars used in the series, which races on temporary street circuits, natural terrain road courses and ovals of different lengths, make a wide variety of demands upon the tires they use. The Goodyear Eagles supplied for the program are of bias-ply construction.

Andrew Ranger finished second after starting on the pole for the 32-lap chase around the 1.973-mile circuit. His pole-winning lap averaged 87.353 mph. Ranger led 31 of the 32 laps.

Robin Buck was third in the race, followed by D.J. Kennington and Don Thomson.

Fitzpatrick averaged 61.132 mph for the 63-mile race. His margin of victory was .585 of a second.
