Carter, Ready To Take On "The Crown Jewel" of Canada

Statesville, NC (06-26-08) Matt Carter and the No. 46 Stine Seed Ford Fusion team will travel north of the border this week to Hagersville Ontario Canada for the ARCA RE/MAX Cayuga 250, which is set to go underway Sunday, June 29 at 1:30 pm. Cayuga Speedway, nicknamed "The Crown Jewel of Canada", will host the series return to Canada and conclude the first half of the ARCA RE/MAX series 2008 season schedule.

As it currently stands, Carter will cross over the border third in driver points. Although, this is the first time he will contend with the Canadian Crown Jewel, his short track record speaks for itself and gives Carter the confidence to venture onto new short track territory. "We are taking the same car to Canada that we won with at Toledo", said Carter. "I haven't talked with anyone about how to get around Cayuga. Sometimes it's better to figure it out on your own then there are not any preconceived notions. I never got any advice about Toledo and we won. "

Carter, a veteran of the Hooters Pro Cup Series, has put a lot of rubber down on short tracks, so Cayuga is just another track to add to Carter's backyard playground. Two weeks ago after Michigan, Carter expressed his confidence in the teams talent in the short track arena. "I am looking forward to running a half-mile race track in Canada," said Carter. "We are good at the short tracks and I think we know what we are supposed to do there."

Of course Carter's goal for every race is to pull the No. 46 Stine Seed Ford Fusion into victory lane and there are high hopes for Sunday. The green flag will drop at 1:30 pm on Sunday to bring the ARCA RE/MAX Cayuga 250 underway.
