Yonny Hernández and Pramac Racing Team together for 2014

Yonny Hernández will be Andrea Iannone’s teammate on the Pramac Racing Team during the 2014 MotoGP season. Starting today for the three-day IRTA test at the Valencia circuit, the Colombian will be riding his Ducati as a fulltime team rider.

Yonny Hernández Vega (born 25 July 1988 in Medellin) won the Colombian 85cc Motocross Championship in 2003 and 2005, finishing second in 2004. In 2007 he won the Colombian Supermoto S1 and S2 Championships and in 2008, while participating in the Supermotard Spanish League, he climbed to the top step of the podium four times. In 2009 Hernández competed in the CEV Supersport category aboard a Suzuki before moving in 2010 to the Moto2 class, his first season in the World Championship.

He continued in that category in 2011 before advancing in 2012 to the MotoGP class, with the introduction of CRT bikes. In 2013 he joined the Paul Bird Motorsport Team, riding an ART, before replacing the injured Ben Spies aboard the Desmosedici GP13 of the Ignite Pramac Racing Team, beginning at the Grand Prix of Aragon.

The determination, enthusiasm and talent exhibited by Yonny during his time with the team as a substitute rider in the last five rounds of the championship convinced Pramac and Ducati to continue the relationship with the Colombian rider.
