The growth of the Alice Team seen in the last Grands Prix didn't stop on American soil. Toni Elias conquered his best result of the season, after the eight place in China, thanks to a incredible comeback which saw him pass from the tenth to the seventh position in the last four laps. The Spanish riders, in fact, has reached and overtook Nakano, Toseland and Spies in the final part of the American Grand Prix. His teammate, Sylvain Guintoli, hasn't be so lucky today: in the moment of maximum confusion, after only a few turns, he had to go out of the track after a touch with another rider. Back on track with almost ten seconds from the second last, the French rider didn't give up and recovered to the twelfth position. MotoGP now stops for three weeks: next race in Brno on August 17th.
Fabiano Sterlacchini -- Technical Director
"After the last updates received by Ducati we have always maintained good results. It's not simple to adapt to new modifications and Toni has made it to express himself in the best way today. We are trustful for the rest of the season. In Brno we will also have a day of testing after the race and this could make us take another step forward. Also Sylvain has maintained good rhythms during the weekend. A pity he had to go off track in the first lap. I am sure he could have done a good race as well."
Toni Elias -- Alice Team rider (7th in the race -- 12th in the MotoGP classification)
"Notwithstanding this isn't a track that adapts to my riding style I obtained a good result, my best on this track so far. We have been very competitive on all three days. Already in the last two races, from when we received new material from Ducati, the bike has always been competitive on the dry and we have always registered top ten lap times. Now we'll go to Brno trustful to be able to fight with the bests. I want to thanks all my Team that have worked really well."
Sylvain Guintoli -- Alice Team rider (12th in the race -- 15th in the MotoGP classification)
"I started well, but then, in one of the first turns, I touched the rear tyre of another rider and I went off track losing too much time. I tried to comeback but I couldn't maintain this morning's rhythm. Maybe because of the different temperature the rear tyre didn't give me the same confidence I had during warm up. We will check what happened. I am not happy for how the race went because we could have done a really good race."
