Luthi will start the TT Assen from first row

The qualifying for the TT Assen, which is celebrating its 80th birthday, did go really well for Tom Luthi and the Interwetten Moriwaki Moto2 Team. The whole team did work together perfectly and this gave the necessary base for a good qualifying session to the young Swiss. After Luthi had a little slide in his flying lap he lost connection to the group, but his lap time was enough to achieve the fifth starting position and because of the unfortunate crash of Alex Debon, Luthi will start the race of the TT Assen from the first row of the grid, from fourth position.

Tom Luthi, 4 -- 1'39.671:
"The qualifying went well. At the beginning there was a gap in front of me, but because the session went so well I could close the gap. At the end I was sliding and lost connection again. If this would not have happened I could have been further in front. But the session in general gave me a good feeling for the race and I know I can be with the group."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:
"We had a successful qualifying and Tom will start the race, because of Alex Debon's crash, from the first row of the grid. Of course we hope that Alex will be well soon and we wish him all the best. We were able to take many of the settings, we tested in practice into the qualifying and we have a good policy for the race. In Warm up we will test one or two little things more and then I hope Tom has a good race and a great result of course."
