The second timed practice session of the first Spanish day finished with a surprising Yonny Hernandez who gained the ninth position and a tenth place for Andrea Iannone. In a day overtook by a heat wave that reached 31°C in the afternoon, constricted the riders to concentrate more than expected. Between the first and the second sessions, there was a significant increase of the asphalt temperature which made it difficult to improve the single lap time during the afternoon session, and put the tire to the test. Andrea Iannone - Pramac Racing - this morning, after only four days of stop, got back on in his Desmosedici GP14 knowing that the team and himself must face a hard day of work to stay in the top ranking and prepare the bike to improve for the race. In the first practice session, the twenty-four year old Italian tried different set-ups, trying to figure out what work to do on the bike. About three minutes from the end run Andrea crashed without consequences losing the chance to finish the session. During FP2 some improvements were made that helped Andrea to gain some positions closing the day with the tenth place.

Yonny Hernandez - Energy T.I. Pramac Racing - after the great performance in his home race arrives on the Andalusian circuit more determined than ever. Since the first laps, the Colombian proves once again that the working strategy of his team is right, improving lap by lap. At the end of the first session, Yonny stops the stopwatch at 1'40"686, and thanks to this time gains the ninth position. In FP2, he continues the work started on the bike this morning, unfortunately in the afternoon no improvements on the single lap time were done due to the different condition of the track and due to the high temperatures of the asphalt. Yonny Hernandez ends the day with the overall ninth fastest time.

Andrea Iannone ( Pramac Racing)

"Today we worked hard, I tried different set-ups solutions in order to understand how to improve but still have not found the right setting. In the morning we tried a setup that didn’t help and I crashed, fortunately without consequences. Tomorrow there will be qualifying and will continue to work everyone to get in the race as soon as possible. I want to thank my team and Ducati."

Yonny Hernandez (Energy T.I. Pramac Racing)

"I'm really happy I ended the day in the top ten ranking today. I’m fast on this track , I raced a lot here in the Spanish champioship. I have to work more on the tire life. Tomorrow I'll be focused on the lap time and I want to finish the FP3 in the top ten in order to enter directly into Q2. This is the best result I've ever had during qualifying in my career, I'm working hard and I'm improving step by step. Tomorrow we will continue to work hoping to go one even better. "
