The Repsol Honda riders are facing their second exam of the year this weekend in Jerez. Nicky Hayden has decided to use the bike designed for 2008 in this race after using last year's model in Qatar. It seems that after his initial doubts the American rider now feels comfortable on the Honda RC212V 2008, a bike which he has already tried on the track in the south of Spain.

Nicky Hayden decided at the last minute to use the 2007 motorbike for the race in Qatar, whilst his team mate Dani Pedrosa rode the bike designed for 2008. Nevertheless, for the race this weekend in Spain, Jerez, the Repsol rider will use the motorbike developed for the new season.

In November last year Ncky Hayden and his team began to test the bike developed for 2008 and he stated that he had confidence in it. Moreover, his debut in the World Championship on the Honda RC212V 2008 will be in Jerez, a track where he has already trained quite a lot on this machine.

All in all the American rider admits that there is still some work to be done on it, although he is positive about how it will perform this weekend and reckons he has a good chance of harvesting some success. Regarding the GP in Qatar, the 2006 World Champion explained that the decision to ride last year" machine was made by the whole team.
