INTERWETTEN HONDA MotoGP TEAM -- Aoyama continues testing with bike

The andalusian Grand Prix in Jerez de la Frontera/Spain started similar for Hiroshi Aoyama like the Grand Prix of Qatar three weeks ago with a 17th place in the first free practice. Like the Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team already knows this doesn't have to mean anything bad for the race on Sunday. The six testing days in the pre season were quite short for Aoyama and his new bike and the team uses every minute possible to adjust the set up of the Honda RC212V to its rider.

Hiroshi Aoyama, 1'41.837 -- 17:
For us this practice was like a teaching lesson. We try to adjust the bike to this track and to understand it better. I was very careful riding and we changed a lot on the settings. We tried to make the bike faster under these conditions and at this track. Tonight we have to analyse the data and see how I can get faster on this track.

Daniel Epp, Team Manager:
Maybe this is a good omen. In Qatar we also were on seventeenth place in the first free practice. The base set up is ok now. The main goal to achieve was that Hiro feels right on the bike and he does. This is the first Grand Prix that we have not tested on the track before and therefore we still had to try a few settings.
