SHELL CONFIRMS LONG-TERM AGREEMENT WITH DORNA

After a successful five-year involvement in MotoGP through its technical partnership with reigning World Champions, Ducati Corse, Shell has decided to increase its investment in the sport. At the British Grand Prix today, Shell confirmed a long-term track signage deal with MotoGP rights-holder, Dorna.

The deal, agreed in principle since the beginning of the season, will be the first of its kind for Shell in MotoGP. The terms of the agreement will allow Shell to promote two of its consumer brands on a rotational basis through MotoGP track signage, giving exposure to Shell V-Power premium fuel and Shell Advance motorcycle lubricant at five races per year. The racing versions of these two products helped power Ducati Corse to its first ever triple World Championship crown in 2007.

"Our track signage deal with Dorna will help strengthen Shell's MotoGP presence" commented Juan Carlos Perez, General Manager of Global Sponsorships, Shell Brands International.

"We already enjoy a successful technical partnership with Ducati Corse: our Shell V-Power race fuel and Shell Advance lubricant helped make the team triple World Champions in 2007. The technology we develop in racing is transferred directly to our road products for the benefit of our customers worldwide. We hope that our increased visibility in MotoGP will help us convey that story."
