2008 BEST QUALIFYING OF THE SEASON FOR ELIAS WHO WILL START IN SECOND ROW. GUINTOLI TWELFTH.
Toni Elias, Alice Team rider, will start for the first time of the season from the second row thanks to the fifth position conquered in this afternoon qualifying session. This morning the Spanish rider had some bike balance problem on his Ducati Desmosedici GP8 Sat, but thanks to the last modification done this afternoon he made it to constantly remain in the top five riders. His teammate Sylvain Guintoli didn't make it to collocate himself in a good position and will have to start from the twelfth position notwithstanding the continuous improvement of his lap times.
Fabiano Sterlacchini -- Alice Team Technical Director "Sincerely I was expecting this sort of result because yesterday, even if he concluded in fourteenth position, we were really close to the fastest. We made some adjustments on the bike reducing the weight in the front part and this allowed us to make a big step forward. Anyway tomorrow is the important day even if we are really proud of the position conquered today. Sylvain made it to improve but tomorrow morning in the warm up he will have to find some other solutions to be even faster."
Toni Elias -- Alice Team rider (5th best lap time in 1'34.322 -- Total laps 26) "This afternoon we had to make some modifications to give more stability to the bike and my technical staff made a great job. For the first time I will start from the second row and I hope to start well to be able to stay close with the fastest riders. I am really trustful also because I didn't only conquered a good lap time with the qualifying but I have also improved a lot the race rhythm in this last session."
Sylvain Guintoli -- Alice Team rider (12th best lap time in 1'34.961 -- Total laps 22) "I can't be happy about the twelfth position but I think positive for tomorrow's race because the race rhythm has improved a lot from yesterday and with some small changes tomorrow during the warm up we can be even faster. The bike has improved lap after lap and I am now able to push the bike more. I am only half of a second from the second row therefore if I will make a good start I believe anything could happen during the race."
