Rossi and Pedrosa inseparable on final day of Sepang MotoGP test

Factory rivals set exact same lap times on third day of pre-season testing

Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa both walked away from the final day of MotoGP pre-season testing at the Sepang International Circuit today with the exact same lap time to top the test while there was also good news for the Ducati Team with Andrea Dovizioso finishing close behind.

While adapting his Yamaha Factory Racing YR-M1 to the new 2014 spec Bridgestone tires and a difficult first day using the rubber yesterday, Rossi was able to find something extra today in his set up to cross the line with a best lap of 1m 59.999s while Pedrosa and identical time on his Repsol Honda machine and was also blisteringly fast during his race simulation that he focused on today.

Dovizioso will be happy with his work today with another strong finish in setting a best time of 2m 00.067s to be third in the timings with Open Class rider Aleix Espargaro and his NGM Mobile Forward Racing Yamaha machine crossing the line with a best time of 1m 59.656s. Stefan Bradl was also lapping at a rapid pace today and wasn’t far off the top men with the LCR Honda rider setting a best time of 2m 00.164s that was good enough for 5th place.

Sitting in sixth place on the final day is Spaniard Alvaro Bautista on the GO&FUN Honda Gresini with a best time of 2m 00.506s while Jorge Lorenzo continues to struggle getting his Yamaha Factory Racing machine set up with the new Bridgestone tires but the Spaniard again finished in a lowly 7th position with a best time of 2m 00.619s. Cal Crutchlow finished in 8th place today for the Ducati Team with a 2m 00.790s lap with fellow Brit Bradley Smith close behind in 9th for the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team with a best lap of 2m 00.804s and teammate Pol Espargaro in 10th with a best time of 2m 01.032s.
