The circuit Termas de Río Hondo is located 6 km from the town which its named after, the name comes from the numerous hot springs in the region.
After the North American race, the MotoGP moves to South America. Fifteen years have passed since the last race in Argentina, that took place in 1999 at the Autodromo Oscar Alfredo Galvez at Buenos Aires and it’s been ten years that the world championship hasn't taken place in Latin America, the last race in Brazil in 2004.
This time the race weekend will take place on a brand new track the "Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo." The circuit Termas de Río Hondo is located 6 km from the town which its named after, the name comes from the numerous hot springs in the region.
The circuit is new for everyone will be a challenge that all riders and engineers have to take on to find a good set-up in preparation for the race.
The Pramac Racing Team has the honor to have as a member of its team, the only Latin American rider of the MotoGP class, the Colombian Yonny Hernandez. Yonny looks up to the GP of Argentina as his home race, it is the only race of the World Champioship to be held in South America. The Colombian is more determined than usual to obtain his goal, continuing the positive streak finishing in the points.
The Italian Andrea Iannone after the great performance put down in the first two races, is determined to continue this positive streak hoping for luck, after the small crash in Qatar, followed by an amazing comeback before the anomalous deterioration of the front tire in Austin that prevented him from fight for the high-ranking positions.
