Karel Abraham is confident after a successful qualifying practice
Successful qualifying practice at the Laguna Seca has completed Karel Abraham, who set a best time of 1:22,893 and finished just 1,691 second behind the reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo.
"Although I am a bit disappointed that I did not finish in twelfth place, I am satisfied with the result of the qualifying practice, especially with the time which I set," said Karel Abraham. His best time of 1:22,893, which was 0,651 second faster than his best time in the free practice, earned him the front position on the fifth row on the grid of the U.S. Grand Prix.
"I know places where I lost time and where I should be able to go even faster," admitted Karel Abraham, who had problems with the adhesiveness of the soft tyres which caused the crash during the final free practice. "I enter the corner faster than usual and the front tire slipped."
Referring to the race, Karel Abraham added: "We have some plan for the race so we will see if it is going to work."
