Former World 250cc and World Superbike champ to take part in two day test
Pramac Racing has today confirmed the return of the Roman Emperor, Max Biaggi who will take part in a two-day test with the Italian team at the Mugello circuit. The Pramac team was scheduled to test with its team rider Ben Spies but the American had to sit out last weekend's race at Mugello with no date set for the Texan's return.
Since retiring from World Superbikes last year after winning the title two times with Aprilia in 2010 and 2012, Biaggi (41) has concentrated on TV commentary for the series with an Italian network. Confirming he will ride the Ducati GP13, Biaggi didn’t elaborate on the test only telling his fans on his twitter account https://twitter.com/@maxbiaggi “Hi all Thursday I'll test Ducati@MotoGP.”
The following is the full translated statement from Pramac Ducati which reads, “Max Biaggi will ride the Ducati Desmosedici GP13 of the Pramac Racing Team for two days of testing at the Tuscan track. The Roman rider, six-time world champion, will go on the bike of Ben Spies who had to give up last Sunday's race and consequently also the test Ducati scheduled this week, due to a recurrence of the problems with his shoulder.
The Pramac Racing Team, in agreement with Ducati, decided to get Max to ride the Texan’s bike, which had already been prepared for the test. At the moment there are no other developments and it is confirmed that Michele Pirro will replace Ben Spies in the GP of Catalunya, scheduled for June 16 in Barcelona, on the motion of the Pramac Racing Team,” the statement ends.
