HEAT AND HIGH HUMIDITY WELCOMED RANDY AT SEPANG CIRCUIT

The premier class riders arrived at the Sepang circuit for the Polini Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix this week end and the typically hot weather welcomed them this morning (30o.C heat and 80% of humidity) at the 5.548 km track which hosts the penultimate round of the 2008 season.

Sepang circuit is the longest on the MotoGP calendar, with two super-fast straights and demanding combination long corners and hairpins and LCR Honda MotoGP racer Randy de Puniet feels ready for the physically exhausting tropical humidity that is a trademark of the Malaysian Circuit. The Frenchman aboard the Michelin-shod Honda RC212V was a strong performer at this track during the winter tests and gained the 4th position in last year's race.

De Puniet: "I like this track because the fast corners suit my riding style and my machine. This is a very particular track as the asphalt temperature usually reaches 50o.C because of the heat and the high humidity and is very physically demanding for the riders. However I feel confident as I had a very good pace here in the winter tests and last year I finished the race in 4th position behind Pedrosa".
